Apps Do Us Wonders
We use apps for many different things. Need a ride somewhere? There’s an app for that. Need to order food for delivery? There’s an app for that too. Who could have imagined that there were different apps for many different things?
We previously had to call a restaurant, or food establishment to place an order for the food that we wanted, and pick it up from the eatery shortly after we call it in, or later depending on our time, and schedules, but now, although we still can use a phone we can use apps like Uber Eats, or online food ordering services like Seamless to order food. Restaurants, and other food places partner with entities such as, Uber Eats, and Seamless, and other similar food delivery businesses to deliver food to customers that they order through the app of their choosing.
Before apps, if we wanted a ride somewhere, we had to call a taxi, or cab company to have one their drivers, and cars come pick us up. If we were in a big city though, or in a place where there were a lot of cabs around, we hailed one of them, telling the driver driving them, where we wanted to go in either scenario. It all depended on if the driver driving the cab, or taxi. was willing to take us to where we needed to go, and still might depend on whether, or not we use an app, or still call a taxi, or cab company for a pickup, or hail a cab, especially if we are in a location where there might be a lot of them, like in a big municipality such as New York City.
Now-a-days regardless of what our preference is or not with obtaining a ride to a destination of our choosing, there are apps we can download on our cell phones such as Uber, Lyft and Via. All we have to do is go through the app’s set-up process, and fill-in our information when prompted, and then we are good to go. We can then schedule our ride, and a car will come to pick us up, just like that.
While this app, no not an appetizer as a snack before a big meal like lunch, or dinner, but a computer program, and abbreviation for the app’s full spelling of application, and like the apps previously mentioned, does not deal with driving safely behind the wheel, of a car there is also an app that does called Waze for knowing, and sharing with other drivers, important details while being on the road such as when there are accidents around where we are driving.
Want to ditch your classic Walkie Talkie hardware for something new, and more modern, and sophisticated, there’s an app for that as well called Zello, that is especially useful for the purpose of being used in the event of an emergency.
With so many apps available for download on our cell phones we won’t include them all, but while we can all still do things the way that they were originally done, and the way we originally did them like order food for pickup from a restaurant, or other eatery, call a cab, watch for police patrols, avoid accidents, and call, text, or e-mail, call, text, or speak face-to-face to the appropriate people in the event of an emergency, it is quite apparent that we are all in a day and age where apps are useful, prevalent, create efficiency in our lives and are popular in our society today no matter what types we use, and how much we use them.
