Featured Artist: Zachary Van Dyck
With his catchy choruses and electro house like influences, Zach Van Dyck has been striving to make a name for himself in the pop world. The California born singer looks to show people that no matter what obstacles you have faced, you can still follow your dreams, and do so at a high level.
His rather normal life has had it share of ups and downs including being diagnosed with Ullrich Muscular Dystrophy, enduring over 30 major surgeries and a spinal cord injury in 2009 that initially left him paralyzed from the waist down. Through it all one of the things keeping him going was his music.
Van Dyck and his team have been working on his first full length album for over a year and are preparing for its release June 2nd. The 22 year old singer looks forward to making his mark on the music industry and sharing his first single off the record “In and Out of Time” along with “Winter”a song featuring Trace Cyrus of Metro Station with his fans.
Millennials 365: Where was your favorite place to perform?
Zach Van Dyck: I recently played a concert in the park here in Sacramento for about 6,700 people. That was definitely my biggest show to date and by far my favorite! I’d play there every time I play in Sacramento if I could.
M365: Which songs do you perform most frequently?
Zach Van Dyck: My last show I just played I played a bunch of new songs off my upcoming debut album “Promises” it was super awesome to finally be able to play them. I’m for sure going to be playing those tracks for a while.
M365: Do you ever play any covers?
Zach Van Dyck: Yes! Me and my band love to do at least 1 cover within our set. It is usually something that’s in the Top 40. Our most recent one we did was Paris by The Chainsmokers.
M365: What’s your outlook on the record industry today?
Zach Van Dyck: I think it is definitely more Social Media based, which makes it not necessary for artists to be signed to be successful. You can have a really strong career without being signed now because of social media.
M365: Any last thoughts for our readers?
Zach Van Dyck: Thank you guys for reading this interview, and if you’re interested in what I’m doing you can find my record in online stores everywhere on June 2nd. (iTunes, Spotify, Apple Music, Google Play.) Hope to see you guys on the road soon!
