Foo Fighters Return With Hard-Hitting New Single Plus Album + Tour
Dave and the boys are back! The band recently announced a new album Concrete & Gold will be released this fall with a string of U.S. dates to follow.
The new 11 track album and release of their latest single “Run”, which hit airwaves the beginning of this month, came as a surprise to fans. The band returns with a heavy rocking single that shows they haven’t lost any momentum in the 20 plus years they’ve been together. The raucous guitars and pounding drums make”Run” one of the heaviest Foo Fighters songs to date. The single made its live debut back in February during some of their festival dates. Two other songs from the album, “La Dee Dah” and “The Sky is a Neighborhood”, were recently performed live this year as well (the former during a festival gig in Iceland).
Concrete & Gold marks the Foos’ 9th studio album and first new music since 2015’s Saint Cecilia EP, a follow up to their previous album Sonic Highways, released the year prior. Fans can pre-order the new album in various editions, including a deluxe edition with a Russian nestling doll, on the band’s website here. The album is slated to hit stores 9/15.
The band returns to the U.S. this fall in San Bernardino with Cal Jam Fest on 10/7 where they’ll be performing alongside acts such as Cage the Elephant and Queens of the Stone Age. Grohl and co. will then head over to the east coast for a grand opening show at Washington D.C.’s new venue “The Anthem” on 10/12 followed by a trek across the midwest that starts on 10/14 in Richmond, VA and concludes in Salt Lake City on 12/12.
The Foos made headlines earlier this year with announcements of various festival dates across the U.S. and Europe including their first ever Glastonbury Festival appearance. The band was slated to appear at the famous UK festival in 2015 but was canceled due to singer Dave Grohl’s leg injury after falling off a stage in Sweden.
