Here It Comes … (A Poem About Anxiety)
Here it comes to without a warning.
It does not allow me time to fight it.
It slowly consumes my thoughts and I find it hard to do anything.
My brain begins to feel the doors closing in.
I feel trapped and alone with the worrying.
Then I begin to feel anxious and nervous at the same time.
Later I feel like crying and screaming at the same time.
Then I wish my mother could hug me like when I was a child.
I feel so helpless during the time it clouds me.
When will this end?
When will this excessive worry stop?
I ask myself those questions each time.
Thankfully I have found different ways to cope.
it is all thanks to my family and my faith.
You see Anxiety is the cause of this pain.
Since it only happens once in awhile and as I said it gives no warning.
Sometimes the stress of life can be a trigger but I do not really have any answers.
For now all I can do is work on ways to cope that will help me deal with it.
But the fear of it lurks within me as I try to be at peace when it comes again.
