Soul Singer Charles Bradley Dead at 68
The music industry suffered another loss as soulful singer Charles Bradley passed away on September 23rd, 2017.
Bradley was diagnosed with stomach cancer in October of 2016. After being cleared by doctors to return touring, Bradley ended up canceling the rest of the tour this year due to the cancer spreading to his liver.
“It is with a heavy heart that we announce the passing of Charles Bradley”, a spokesperson for Bradley posts on his social media. “Mr. Bradley was truly grateful for all the love he’s received from his fans and we hope his message of love is remembered and carried on. Thank you for your thoughts and prayers during this difficult time.”
Bradley was a powerhouse artists. After struggling to make it in the music industry for over 40 years, he found success at the of 62 with his first album, 2011’s, No Time For Dreaming. Bradley took the industry by force with his first hit “The World (Is Going Up in Flames)”. The singer found success with two more albums, Victim of Love and Changes. The latter of which featured a cover of the Black Sabbath song of the same name.
Bradley was an artist who felt like his music was out of the 1970s. Which his age and voice, you’d swear he was soul singer making a comeback. His story of finding success after so long is nothing short of inspiring to people everywhere. His career is a message to all to not give up and follow your dreams, no matter how hard it may be.
