It is said when turmoil exists around us, it will ultimately manifest within us. Logically speaking, it makes sense. Without an unconscious effort to fight against your surroundings you become what you are most familiar with. Although, to accept this would be to deny we are intrinsic creatures that go beyond reason itself.
This concept comes in a time of wickedness. It can be argued that we are living in a spiritually confusing time for the world. Acts of terror and evil seem to have 24/7 coverage on every and all media outlets. This never-ending consumption of inhumanity creeps into our hearts, minds and souls. It is essentially a cancer that forms its home in our peace of mind and makes never ending efforts to run out love out of our hearts. At some point, we become weak from resisting.
Our logical beings convince us to give up this war and instead preserve all energy to simply maintain existence. Even though this seems to be the natural response of our physical bodies, our spiritual souls reject this settling fear. When your body is sick, symptoms arise and we are physically alerted there is a malfunction of some sort. I believe this extends to our spiritual bodies. The profound sadness we experience in the face of evil is not meant to stay. It is our symptom that our souls need care, love, strength and wisdom.
This past week we once again were struck with headlines of a horrendous mass killing of innocent people. I have little words and thoughts as to how to properly heal from this immense pain. Still I want to leave you with this, we are meant to fight. Even when the pain seems extraordinary and the war seems lost. You can rest assure as long as you experience anger and sadness, that is a symptom of your soul fighting off the cancer of inhumanity. I ask you to fight along with your soul in this time of despair.
