Tropicalia Festival Boasts All You Can Eat Tacos & Great Music
Anyone living the Long Beach, Calif. area who appreciates all you can eat tacos and great music, should check out Tropicalia Music & Taco Festival. Hosted by comedian Felipe Esparza, this festival debuts quite possibly as the first of it’s kind in LA.
Festival goers can head to the Queen Mary on Nov. 11, to enjoy this event that includes an eclectic mixture of R&B, hip hop, salsa and norteno music.
The lineup, just as impressive as the announcement of free tacos, features headlining performances from Colombian songstress Kali Uchis, LA-based psychedelic funk band Chicano Batman and norteno music icons Los Tigre del Norte. In addition, there will be performance from a number known acts including 90’s R&B star Ginuwine, rapper Goldlink, singer Alina Baraz, british lo-fi crooner King Krule and cumbia-rock band Thee Commons. Latin music will be in abundance with sounds from Sonora Dinamita, a vallenato groove hailing from Monterrey Mexico, Celso Piña and the psychedelic sounds of Os Mutantes direct from Sao Paolo, Brazil. With different vibes and types of music available, there is a set for everyone to enjoy.
Did I already mention that there’s all you can eat tacos? Yes, concert-goers are able to sample tacos from many of the vendors present including Carnitas el Momo, Dia de Los Puercos, Pez Cantina, Taqueria La Venganza. These sample are only available until 4pm, so come early and come hungry! Not to worry if you have dietary restrictions; there will be tacos for every diet available.
Set times will be announced two weeks prior to the event, but the gates are scheduled to open at Noon. Ticket options currently include general admission, VIP Lounge, VIP Legend, Rage on the Stage and VIP Cabana, starting at $75.
