When Your Cousins Are Like Your Brothers
Dedicated to Josh and Nevin
When your cousins are like your siblings a lot of things happen. I am extremely close to two of my cousins. So close that when we text we usually call each other “brother” or “sister”. I wouldn’t have it any other way. When all else fails in life you will still have your cousins.
I am so thankful to have a close bond with my cousins. They were the ones there through my earliest and dearest memories. Being best friends with your cousins makes each family get together a little more interesting and bearable.
So to every late night conversation about boys/girls, every Game Night, all the inside jokes about family members, every memory made, every last minute text “Want to go to lunch?”, every road trip and every adventure… thank you. Having you two as my brothers or best friends has been and will continue to be one of the greatest gift God has given me in this life.
We’ve been through it all together. Spending basically every day together when we were younger because their mom was our babysitter. Family tragedies, like the death of our Papa. SO MANY pranks we’ve pulled on family members, who unfortunately get together to do the same to us. Lots of celebrations like marriages, graduations and birthdays, and so much more! We are so close that we literally fight like brother and sister (even ask our parents). We all even worked at our family’s restaurant together!
I wouldn’t have it any other way. My cousins are the first one’s I go to with my problems because they tell me the truth, despite what I want to hear. We encourage each other to be the best we can be. We celebrate each other’s victories. So many of my greatest days have been with these two. So lastly, thank you! Thank you for being the greatest cousins/brothers/best friends I could ever even imagine having. Thanks for the laughs, the memories and the endless amount of support. We have a long life to live with each other and can’t wait to make so many more memories!
